Where is Stevenson Road? 📍

The Stevenson Trail starts at Puy-en-Velay, in Haute-Loire, and ends at Saint-Jean-du-Gard, in the Gard. It crosses several departments and varied regions, including:

  • Le Velay, with its volcanoes and green valleys.
  • La Margeride, a wild and peaceful land.
  • The Cevennes, with their ridges, deep valleys, and villages of character.

This path offers a dive into varied landscapes, between mountains, forests and scrubland. 🌲🌄

How to properly prepare for your hike on the Stevenson Trail? 🎒

Here are the main elements to take into account for a successful adventure:

1. The choice of the season 🍂🌞

  • Spring and autumn : The temperatures are pleasant, and the colors of nature are magnificent.
  • Summer : Beware of the heat in the Cévennes, but well prepared, it does! 🙂
  • Winter : Possible, but not recommended, reserved for experienced hikers due to weather conditions. In addition, most accommodations are closed during this period.

2. The division of the stages 🗺️

The path takes 12 to 15 days, depending on your pace. The steps vary between 15 and 25 km per day. Major stopover cities include:

  • Le Puy-en-Velay
  • Langogne
  • Florac
  • Saint-Jean-du-Gard

3. Logistics and accommodations 🛏️
